InterMedia USA supplied a high-speed fiber optic connection and associated engineering services for a full-week with no downtime.

Ericsson used this facility to stream audio and video to thousands of cell phones over the Internet during COMDEX 2000 and CES 2001.

**Inside the Ericsson Mobile Display**

The same connection was used to demonstrate Ericsson capabilities over the Internet and to potential customers and alliances visiting the display.


3G Third Generation. A series of standards that will turbo-charge wireless data links. Soon, European and Asian wireless carriers will be updating their networks to handle super-fast, enabling real-time video and audio streaming to mobile devices. This Dick Tracy-like technology is not cheap, however, and some observers say the cost of deploying such networks will delay adoption in the United States, where wireless technologies have not caught on as quickly as they have in other parts of the world.
